About the position

The Health System Director, Sponsored Research Administration at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is responsible for overseeing pre and post-award functions related to research grants and administration. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering collaboration within the institution and the external research community. The director will also support strategic planning, faculty recruitment, and program development while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee grants management and day-to-day operations for funded grants, gifts, and fellowships.
  • Manage pre-award and post-award functions, including budget development and compliance with regulations.
  • Support strategic planning processes related to research and grants administration.
  • Foster collaborative relationships within NYULH and the external research community.
  • Monitor compliance with NYU School of Medicine guidelines and federal regulations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for institutional research resources at NYULMC.
  • Manage productivity metrics related to grant submissions and awards.
  • Ensure effective communication with department leadership and principal investigators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in an academic medical center or equivalent.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional financial management skills and experience with research administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in public health, public administration, research, or related field.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
