About the position

The Health System Director of Sponsored Research Administration at NYU Langone Health is responsible for overseeing pre and post-award functions related to research grants and administration. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering collaborative relationships to enhance the research portfolio and operational efficiency. The director will work closely with department leadership and principal investigators to support strategic planning and facilitate grant management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee grants management and day-to-day operations for funded grants, gifts, and fellowships.
  • Manage pre-award planning, including identification of funding opportunities and budget development.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and monitor research activities.
  • Support strategic planning processes related to research administration.
  • Foster collaborative relationships within NYULH and the external research community.
  • Monitor progress and performance of research projects to ensure compliance with timelines and budgets.
  • Develop internal policies for managing grants and contracts.
  • Serve as the primary representative for relationships with institutional research resources.
  • Manage productivity metrics related to submissions, awards, and financial performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in an academic medical center or equivalent.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional financial management skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in public health, public administration, research, or related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
