About the position

The Health Systems Administrator - Assistant Medical Center Director position at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center involves overseeing multiple administrative and allied health services, ensuring efficient facility operations, and participating in executive-level discussions and decision-making. The role requires strong leadership in budget management, resource allocation, and community relationship building, with a focus on enhancing patient care and operational effectiveness within the Veterans Health Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise line authority for multiple administrative and allied health services and sections.
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct various administrative and health-related services.
  • Participate in top-level executive discussions, decisions, and policy-making.
  • Manage budget and fiscal operations for assigned services, including resource management and FTEE control.
  • Serve as fiscal advisor to the medical center Director in preparing budget submissions.
  • Delegate authority and hold managers accountable for performance in their service lines.
  • Resolve complaints and grievances effectively.
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships and relationships with stakeholders.
  • Set priorities for healthcare operations and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Conduct internal systemic reviews to ensure compliance with governing standards.

Requirements

  • Possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields.
  • Have progressively responsible analytical or administrative experience in the healthcare field.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, regulations, and standards.
  • Possess management ability to delegate authority and oversee programs.
