About the position

The Patient Care Support role in the Emergency Room at St. Vincent Hospital involves providing patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The position requires facilitating patient and clerical activities, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining communication necessary for effective patient care. The role is part-time, requiring 24 hours of work per week, with a day shift schedule and a rotation of every third weekend.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Provide care for patients according to established standards.
• Facilitate patient and clerical activities on the unit.
• Document and communicate information necessary for patient care.
• Manage system operations, including chart assembly and analysis.
• Ensure accurate data collection and entry for customer satisfaction and reimbursement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) or PCT (Patient Care Technician) certification preferred.
