About The Position
The Health Unit Coordinator II/CMR position is a dual role primarily situated in the cardiac monitoring unit (CMU) with occasional responsibilities on an in-patient unit. In the CMU, the coordinator acts as a critical communication link between clinical staff and the patient's condition as observed on the cardiac monitor. This involves interpreting cardiac rhythms and promptly communicating any abnormalities to the nursing staff. The role requires a keen understanding of cardiac monitoring and the ability to respond to rhythm changes effectively. When functioning as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), the individual will greet and assist visitors, providing essential clerical support to the clinical team in daily patient care operations. This includes processing information and requests from patients, staff, visitors, physicians, and other departments. The HUC is responsible for data entry related to patient functions and maintaining medical records from admission to discharge, ensuring that communication is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate. The position demands a high level of organization and attention to detail, as the coordinator will manage various clerical tasks, including maintaining logs, obtaining necessary signatures, and ensuring the timely entry of patient information into the system. The role also involves routine maintenance of equipment and supplies, as well as assisting in the overall management of the cardiac monitoring unit and in-patient unit responsibilities.
