About the position

The Health & Wellness Manager at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is responsible for managing programs that provide direct community health services to clients and community members. This role involves cultivating and maintaining community partnerships, overseeing health screening teams, and ensuring clients receive necessary medical care. The manager will also lead mental health and psychosocial support initiatives, manage program budgets, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements, all while advocating for health care access in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IRC with partner organizations for coordination, planning, and implementation purposes.
  • Supervise staff working on COVID National Resource Center project deliverables.
  • Work across program teams within the Atlanta office to determine health care needs and gaps in services for community members.
  • Manage the development of partnerships with local primary care health centers, specialist care, Board(s) of Health, and behavioral health care to address client needs.
  • Manage and supervise the Initial Health screening team, ensuring that all clients are screened and connected to necessary medical care.
  • Manage and lead the office's Mental Health and Psychosocial Support response.
  • Develop community-based partnerships to address the health care needs of clients.
  • Develop and maintain an updated resource manual for health care services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate.
  • Represent the IRC in community-led meetings and projects that advocate for health care services.
  • Provide high-level leadership to assigned teams, including regular meetings and effective delegation of duties.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise team members.
  • Manage the delivery of high-quality programs that meet proposed goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to monitor and manage all program budgets.
  • Write and review donor reports for content and accuracy prior to submission.
  • Oversee grant tracking and coordinate reporting.
  • Coordinate with the Deputy Director on team management and new program development.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure quality data collection across all programs and manage the production of reports and impact data.
  • Ensure sound fiscal management and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Represent assigned programs with IRC HQ and ensure compliance with HQ initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree in healthcare, allied health, or public health related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience providing services to refugee and immigrant communities.
  • Prior grant and people management experience.
  • Ability to handle complex and sensitive cases and work effectively with clients with diverse issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

  • Experience working with refugees and immigrants to navigate American social/human service systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.
