About the position

The On-site Health and Wellness Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising workplace injury prevention and wellness programs for employees. This full-time role involves working under the direction of the ATS medical director to implement various health initiatives, conduct ergonomic assessments, and provide first-aid treatment, all while fostering relationships with onsite workers and management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wellness screenings including blood pressure and blood glucose testing.
  • Provide first-aid treatment and case management for musculoskeletal complaints.
  • Conduct orthopedic injury assessments.
  • Develop and implement site-specific wellness initiatives and programs.
  • Perform comprehensive ergonomic job risk analyses.
  • Design and implement ergonomics interventions using innovative solutions.
  • Complete necessary administrative forms and reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide monthly and annual reports for wellness utilization and cost-savings.
  • Create an environment of trust and caring for workers.
  • Communicate regularly with safety personnel regarding wellness activities.
  • Attend meetings to discuss safety and case management.
  • Author articles for newsletters as needed.
  • Educate regarding health and wellness protocols and injury prevention.
  • Lead daily stretch and flex sessions and attend PTP meetings.
  • Conduct mental health interventions and first aid.
  • Perform fluorescein eye exams.
  • Establish relationships with external providers for continuity of care.
  • Lead quarterly wellness challenges and maintain inventory for the clinic.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of athletic training experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Board Certified Athletic training certification.
  • State licensure certification.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Willingness to travel to various client locations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and worker's compensation is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and employees.
  • Previous ergonomic and/or occupational health experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Workers' compensation law.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
