About the position

The Healthcare Administrator (LNHA) is responsible for overseeing the daily healthcare functions of a long-term care facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating healthcare programs while maintaining the highest quality of care for residents. The administrator will also represent the community in external dealings and manage various administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day health care functions of the community in accordance with regulations.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct health care programs and activities.
  • Review community policies and procedures periodically to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Represent the community in dealings with outside agencies and governmental bodies.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating job-related functions for safety compliance.
  • Develop plans of correction for deficiencies noted during inspections.
  • Serve on various facility committees and report findings to the governing board.
  • Delegate authority and responsibility to staff as necessary.
  • Consult with department directors to improve operations and services.
  • Review and check the competence of the workforce and make necessary adjustments.
  • Assist in planning and conducting training programs for staff.
  • Review monthly financial statements for responsible departments.
  • Address resident complaints and grievances, documenting actions taken.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator's license or meet state licensure requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in long-term care administration.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge in healthcare management.
