About the position

The Associate Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position is a newly created role within a well-established healthcare system located in scenic Southern California. This position is designed for an experienced and detail-oriented finance professional who is looking to advance their career in healthcare finance. The Associate CFO will work closely with the current CFO and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to oversee financial operations and drive strategic initiatives across a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and a 75-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. This role not only involves managing the financial health of the organization but also serves as a grooming opportunity for the future CFO position, with potential advancement expected in 2027. In this role, the Associate CFO will be responsible for a variety of financial operations, including managing supply chain logistics, utilities, and conducting monthly operating reviews for over 50 groups. The position also entails overseeing the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Gift Shop operations. The successful candidate will partner with the CFO and CAO on strategic financial planning and execution, ensuring that the organization remains fiscally healthy while meeting its operational goals. This is a unique opportunity to shape the financial strategy of a healthcare organization while working in a collaborative environment with a respected executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing supply chain, utilities, and monthly operating reviews for 50+ groups.
  • Oversee Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Gift Shop operations.
  • Partner with CFO and CAO on strategic financial planning and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare finance.
  • Critical Access Hospital experience (strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office suite.
