About the position

As a Healthcare Assistant Project Manager at STV, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting various healthcare projects, including interior renovations, additions, and new ground-up constructions. Your responsibilities will encompass oversight of all project phases, from site selection and pre-construction planning to budgeting, scheduling, and construction management. You will act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards, all while minimizing downtime for operations. In this position, you will participate in the design and construction management of healthcare projects, leading project teams and facilitating project meetings to document progress and action items. You will be responsible for developing and managing project budgets and schedules, creating Requests for Proposals (RFPs), conducting vendor evaluations, and making recommendations for various products and services. Your role will also involve assisting in site evaluations, managing the design process through permitting, and overseeing construction activities to proactively address challenges. Additionally, you will conduct end-user move meetings, create move phasing and space assignment documents, supervise physical moves, and prepare project close-out documents, including financial reporting and operational manuals. This position requires exceptional technical and project management skills, as well as the ability to manage competing demands across multiple client projects simultaneously. You will need to prioritize tasks effectively and handle challenges independently, while also being comfortable managing meetings and presenting data to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Participation and management of the design and construction of Healthcare projects.
  • Lead project teams and serve as primary client point of contact.
  • Run project meetings and document progress and action items.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Develop RFP's, create bid lists, conduct interviews, evaluate proposals and make vendor recommendations for a variety of products and services.
  • Assist in site evaluation, recommendation and selection.
  • Establish project budgets and schedules.
  • Manage the design process through permitting.
  • Oversee design and construction activities and proactively mitigate challenges.
  • Manage budget and schedule and document progress and action items.
  • Manage payment requisitions and negotiate change orders.
  • Conduct regular end-user move meetings and vendor team meetings.
  • Create move phasing and space assignment documents.
  • Supervision of physical move.
  • Post move punch list and closeout.
  • Preparation of project close-out documents including financial reporting and operational documents and manuals.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in building construction, engineering, architecture, facilities management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the design, construction of facilities within the Healthcare sector.
  • Exceptional technical and project management skills related to the planning, design and construction process.
  • Ability to ensure that all project objectives are achieved.
  • Capability to manage competing demands on multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle challenges on an independent basis.
  • Comfortable managing meetings, presenting data and participating and presenting in interviews.
