About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at ChenMed plays a crucial role in enhancing the organization's clinical and operational performance through data-driven insights. This position is responsible for providing actionable insights on clinical and operational outcome metrics, which are essential for the overall success of ChenMed. The analyst serves as a customer analytics consultant, collaborating with various departments to make strategic recommendations that align with the Medicare Advantage and healthcare industry standards. In this role, the analyst acts as a data liaison for leadership and stakeholders, understanding their needs and translating them into effective reporting and analytic solutions. The incumbent will conduct independent analyses to assist the enterprise in improving clinical, operational, and cost-saving performance. By leveraging data, the analyst will create innovative strategies and formulate actionable recommendations that drive successful execution. The analyst will partner with Clinical, Network, and Operational stakeholders to proactively measure and enhance quality, patient outcomes, and total cost of care performance. This includes preparing and analyzing clinical and operational data to develop materials for executive management, defining and prioritizing key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborating with developers to design and operationalize strategic solutions such as dashboards and reports. The role also involves validating data, enhancing reports, and coaching leaders and team members on effectively utilizing reports and data resource tools. Overall, the Business Intelligence Analyst is expected to maintain clear standard operating procedures and project-specific documentation, lead analytical discussions on process improvements, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as data liaison for leadership and stakeholders, translating their needs into reporting and analytic solutions.
  • Provides independent analysis and consulting to assist the enterprise with clinical, operational, and cost-saving performance improvement.
  • Uses data to create and direct innovative, thoughtful, and cost-effective strategies, formulating actionable recommendations and requirements for successful execution.
  • Partners with Clinical, Network, and Operational stakeholders to proactively measure and improve quality, patient outcomes, and total cost of care performance.
  • Prepares and analyzes clinical and operational data to develop material presented to executive management.
  • Defines and prioritizes key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive key global initiatives.
  • Partners with developers to design, build, and operationalize strategic solutions (e.g., dashboards, reports, and trackers).
  • Leverages data analytics and medical modeling to provide insight into new and existing processes and business opportunities.
  • Tests and tracks efficiency of new multi-pronged strategies.
  • Works with Analytics to validate data, enhance reports and tools, and help design new products for enterprise consumption.
  • Builds strong and trusting relationships with leaders to support problem resolution and ensure overall awareness of issues and challenges.
  • Coaches leaders, physicians, and team members on how to effectively use reports and data resource tools.
  • Maintains clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) and project-specific documentation of analytical methods used, key decisions, caveats, and data sources.
  • Leads analytical discussions on how process improvements are translating to improved results.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; OR additional experience above the minimum may be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • MBA, MHA, MPA, or advanced degree in an area related to information sciences, analytics, health care management, or public health is a plus.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience in management consulting, business development, health care, insurance, or advanced data analytics is required.
  • Experience utilizing and developing data visualization through tools such as QlikView and/or PowerBI; statistical modeling is necessary.
  • Experience in health care models including Medicare Advantage Programs and provider risk models is preferred.
  • Prior experience in strategic consulting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience delivering high-level presentations to executives and clinicians is a must.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of SQL; additional programming languages such as Python or R are a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including statistical modeling, vlookup, and pivot tables.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office Suite products: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook plus database software.
