About the position

As a Healthcare Coalition Facilitator at the East Central Public Health District, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mission of the Georgia Department of Public Health, which is dedicated to protecting the lives of residents in Georgia. The role involves collaborating with a dedicated team of public health professionals to prevent disease, promote health, and prepare for emergencies. You will be responsible for facilitating the regional Healthcare Coalition Strategic Plan, ensuring that performance measures are met, and serving as a liaison between local emergency preparedness and the Health Care Coalition. Your responsibilities will include actively participating in meetings, assisting with annual emergency exercises, and developing and maintaining Health Care Coalition plans. You will also coordinate training for member agencies on emergency preparedness topics and manage the coalition's resource inventory. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Coalition Facilitator for the Health Care Coalition.
  • Actively participate with a primary Health Care Coalition (Region G) and serve as a backup to neighboring Health Care Coalitions.
  • Facilitate the regional Healthcare Coalition Strategic Plan to meet performance measures.
  • Serve as the liaison between District Public Health Emergency Preparedness (local ESF8) and the Health Care Coalition.
  • Actively participate and attend meetings held throughout the region and the state.
  • Assist Health Care Coalition with annual emergency exercises and review and documentation requirements, including the annual Coalition Surge Test.
  • Develop and maintain Health Care Coalition plans with the Health Care Coalition Executive Committee.
  • Support closed pod planning with health care facilities to strengthen countermeasures and mitigation.
  • Maintain Health Care Coalition resource inventory utilizing the statewide inventory management system in collaboration with the Health Care Coalition Coordinator.
  • Coordinate the provision of training to Health Care Coalition member agencies as requested on emergency preparedness-related topics to include the National Incident Management System.
  • Coordinate with the State HPP partners to educate on programs and services offered by Public Health by providing educational material to healthcare partners.
  • Assist and participate in local, regional, and state exercise planning and drills by engaging the healthcare community and partners.
  • Coordinate annual budgets, reimbursements, and purchasing with the Healthcare Coalition Coordinator and the Executive Committee to include budget preparation, financial management, and achievement of grant deliverables.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in exercise planning or related field.
  • Mid-level experience in public health or emergency preparedness.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public health policy development.
  • Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
