About the position

The Healthcare Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that employee files meet regulatory and Joint Commission requirements. This project-based position focuses on conducting file audits, validating I-9 forms, and managing compliance documentation across multiple systems. The specialist will collaborate closely with the hospital's audit team to maintain high standards of compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Audit employee files for compliance with credentialing, background checks, and other regulatory criteria.
  • Review and validate I-9 forms for accuracy and adherence to federal guidelines.
  • Support a major system-wide employee I-9 audit.
  • Use multiple internal systems to track and document compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and resolve discrepancies.
  • Document audit findings and prepare detailed reports.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in compliance auditing, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with I-9 audits and employment documentation processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work independently and efficiently.

Benefits

  • Flexible start times between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM.
  • Eligible for 1 remote workday per week after 45 days, with potential for 2 remote days as training progresses.
