About the position

The Healthcare Coordinator plays a crucial role in partnering with dentists to secure financial commitments from patients for their treatment plans. This position emphasizes patient education, overcoming objections, and maintaining productive schedules for dentists, all while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Gain a financial commitment from the patient to start the dentistry that the Dentist is diagnosing for their patient.
  • Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools, skills, and talents to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their unique wants and needs.
  • Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician on every exam patient.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on all available financial options to give patients choices to start dentistry that fits in their budget.
  • Professionally overcome common patient objections to starting treatment.
  • Obtain necessary insurance pre-authorizations for patients who need this prior to completing treatment.
  • Ensure the office exemplifies the Comprehensive Care Model within the offices as well as referrals outside the office.
  • Actively participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and any other required meetings.
  • Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand making decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework.
  • Become knowledgeable on the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies; address others professionally and respectfully always.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal and other regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurances.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to set realistic goals and meet commitments.
  • Patient advocate with flexibility, empathy, and ethical standards.
  • Process-focused operator with comprehensive knowledge of operational processes and computer proficiency.
  • Financial acumen to understand profit drivers and local market competition.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentiality of patient records.
  • Organized and detail-oriented individual able to work in a fast-paced environment.
