About the position

The Healthcare Coordinator (HC) at Dentists of Mitchell Ranch plays a crucial role in partnering with dentists to secure financial commitments from patients for their treatment plans. This position emphasizes patient education, overcoming objections, and maintaining productive schedules while ensuring a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE). The HC is expected to be knowledgeable about financial options and to support patients in making informed decisions regarding their dental care.

Responsibilities

  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Gain a financial commitment from the patient to start the dentistry that the Dentist is diagnosing for their patient.
  • Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their unique wants and needs.
  • Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician on every exam patient.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on all available financial options to give patients choices that fit their budget.
  • Professionally overcome common patient objections to starting treatment.
  • Obtain necessary insurance pre-authorizations for patients prior to completing treatment.
  • Ensure the office exemplifies the Comprehensive Care Model and manages referrals outside the office.
  • Actively participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand and make decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework.
  • Become knowledgeable on the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurances.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to set realistic goals and meet commitments.
  • Ability to advocate for patients with empathy and ethical considerations.
  • Process-focused with a comprehensive knowledge of operational processes and computer proficiency.
  • Financial acumen to understand profit drivers and local market competition.
  • Strong influencing skills with active listening and observation capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentiality of patient records.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
