About the position

Milliman is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst Intern to join our consulting team focused on pharmaceutical manufacturers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage with a multi-disciplinary team, utilizing data-driven approaches across various coding platforms to support the strategic initiatives of our clients. As an intern, you will be involved in executing internal projects, which will provide you with valuable experience in data analysis and problem-solving within the healthcare sector. You will receive mentorship from experienced colleagues, enhancing your skills in coding and data interpretation while contributing to meaningful projects that impact the pharmaceutical industry. In this role, you will analyze large and complex health and drug datasets, implementing data analysis plans that align with project objectives. You will learn to use various coding languages to analyze data, ensuring the accuracy and reasonability of results. Additionally, you will build user-friendly and dynamic Excel models to present your findings effectively. Strong problem-solving skills are essential, as you will need to communicate your analysis clearly to the consulting team, both verbally and in writing. The position requires the ability to work efficiently in a multi-task environment, balancing independent work with collaborative projects. Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, complex health and drug datasets
  • Implement data analysis plans to address project objectives
  • Learn and use coding languages to analyze data and check for reasonability of results
  • Build user-friendly and dynamic Excel models
  • Utilize strong problem solving skills
  • Effectively communicate data analysis findings to the consulting team (verbally and written)
  • Work efficiently in a multi-task environment
  • Work both independently and collaboratively on projects

Requirements

  • Working toward a Bachelors or Masters Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, data science, statistics, economics, or another related quantitative field
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or other similar software for quantitative analysis
  • Experience with coding languages (e.g., SAS, R, VBA, SQL) and a desire to learn more
  • Will have completed Bachelor's degree or higher, in an analytics or mathematics-related field, and available for full-time employment by summer 2026
