About the position

The Healthcare Database Administrator at Allied Consultants, Inc. will play a crucial role in the technical services team, focusing on the migration of healthcare database systems to a new SaaS solution. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in database management, business analysis, and effective communication to ensure a seamless transition and optimal functionality of the new system.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing computer systems.
  • Confer with personnel of organizational units to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements.
  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
  • Support the migration efforts of the integrated resident information system, including comprehensive planning, data assessment, cleansing, and mapping.
  • Design and implement workflows that integrate with the existing system, ensuring a seamless transition and optimal functionality of the new system.
  • Document all phases of the migration process and engage with clinical and IT stakeholders for requirements gathering.
  • Ensure design compliance with client's standards and set up validation and auditing processes to maintain data integrity post-migration.
  • Perform necessary testing of the migration process, including creating and executing Unit test scripts and managing test scenarios.
  • Provide regular updates on the migration progress to all project stakeholders and prepare presentations to explain the migration process and technical challenges.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition to the new system by providing strategic oversight and support post-migration, including training end-users and preparing system documentation.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in database management systems and data migration, with a strong emphasis on healthcare EHR systems, particularly those involving complex integrations like Cerner Millennium.
  • 7 years of experience in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar database scripting for efficient data migration to new SaaS platforms.
  • 7 years of experience in business analysis, including reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user requirements and operational procedures.
  • 7 years of experience in documenting business process flows and standardizing existing and future process flow improvements.
  • 7 years of experience in preparing specifications for data input/output processes.
  • 7 years of experience in resolving complex data-related issues using robust analytical skills and logical problem-solving approaches.
  • 7 years of exceptional oral and written communication skills for producing clear project documentation and engaging effectively with stakeholders.
  • 7 years of strong interpersonal abilities to support diverse teams and inspire high productivity and collaboration among team members.
  • 7 years of in-depth knowledge of current IT industry trends and market insights, applying them strategically within the organization.
  • 7 years of experience with architectural concepts, principles, and tools relevant to infrastructure, information systems, applications, and organizational structure.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of prior experience with SaaS model EHR systems and cloud data migrations.
  • 2 years of experience with Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and document templates.
  • 2 years of familiarity with existing and planned software technology and the global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
  • 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance and data security related to healthcare data.
