About the position

As a Data Visualization Engineer at Mercy, you will be responsible for transforming complex financial data into actionable insights through effective visualizations. Your role will involve managing the entire lifecycle of data visualizations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring data accuracy to support decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling visualizations using Power BI, Power Platform, Power Automate, and Office 365 to empower stakeholders.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of visualizations from concept to implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to standardizing data definitions, processes, and user interfaces to enhance consistency and usability.
  • Design and optimize data pipelines in collaboration with financial data engineers, gathering datasets and identifying data sources.
  • Analyze financial statistics, healthcare, and labor data to extract meaningful insights in partnership with finance business analysts.
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that meet user requirements.
  • Develop conversion and system implementation plans, preparing and obtaining approval of system documentation.
  • Configure system settings and options, executing unit, integration, and acceptance testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years of relevant technical or business work experience.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and industry-standard BI tools.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and PowerQuery.
  • Familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Graphic Design, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Microsoft, Business Intelligence (BI), and/or Databricks.
  • Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification.
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.
