About the position

As a Data Visualization Engineer at Mercy, you will be responsible for transforming complex financial data into actionable insights through effective data visualization techniques. This remote position requires expertise in tools like Power BI and involves managing the entire lifecycle of visualizations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and standardizing data processes to enhance usability across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling visualizations using Power BI, Power Platform, Power Automate, and Office 365 to empower stakeholders.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of visualizations from concept to implementation, ensuring data accuracy and refining user interfaces.
• Contribute to standardizing data definitions, processes, and user interfaces to enhance consistency across the organization.
• Design and optimize data pipelines in collaboration with financial data engineers, gathering datasets and documenting visualization requirements.
• Partner with finance business analysts to extract meaningful insights from financial statistics, healthcare, and labor data.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, seeking input and feedback to improve visualizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Five years of relevant technical or business work experience.
• Proficiency in data modeling and industry-standard BI tools.
• Experience with data analysis, particularly using Power BI, DAX, and PowerQuery.
• Familiarity with SQL and Python for data management.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Graphic Design, Healthcare, or a related field.
• Certifications in Microsoft, Business Intelligence (BI), and/or Databricks.
• Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification.
• Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.
