The Asset Manager IV will be responsible for working with a set of Bernhard customers to review energy usage and strategies in order to implement the best practices. This will include directly managing the O&M of the Central Energy Plant (CEP) for the campus, working with, and mentoring the owner's staff on the O&M and energy usage of multiple facilities as part of a greater campus effort. The role requires a proactive approach to energy management, ensuring that operations align with best practices and efficiency standards. The Asset Manager IV will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the Plant Operating Manual, assisting the Bernhard EPC team with coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction activities, and managing the Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing energy usage on a daily basis for the facility and providing guidance, best practices, and modifications of current operations.
  • Mentoring the owner on energy strategies.
  • Managing the Central Energy Plant Operation and Maintenance including subcontractors, operators, and internal service providers.
  • Managing the Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP.
  • Working with the operators to ensure the plant operates efficiently.
  • Performing ongoing training of the Plant Operators.
  • Developing and maintaining the Plant Operating Manual.
  • Assisting the Bernhard EPC team with the coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction activities with OMC operations.
  • Coordinating on-site troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts with remote support services team.
  • Responsible for managing a single team or multiple teams consisting of one or more Asset Managers.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience managing multiple sites and/or multiple Assistant Asset Manager(s)/Asset Manager I/II(s) or management experience in a central plant or facility.
  • Well versed in building codes and associated standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET Accredited Program).
  • PE preferred or FE working towards obtaining PE.
