About the position

The Healthcare Facilities Manager at Bernhard LLC is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Central Energy Plant (CEP) for a campus, ensuring efficient energy usage and implementing best practices. This role involves mentoring staff, managing subcontractors, and coordinating engineering and construction activities, all while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Review energy usage daily and provide guidance on best practices and operational modifications.
• Mentor the owner on energy strategies.
• Manage the Central Energy Plant Operation and Maintenance, including subcontractors and internal service providers.
• Oversee Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP.
• Ensure efficient operation of the plant with operators.
• Conduct ongoing training for Plant Operators.
• Develop and maintain the Plant Operating Manual.
• Assist the Bernhard EPC team with engineering, procurement, and construction coordination with OMC operations.
• Coordinate on-site troubleshooting and diagnostics with remote support services.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience in mechanical construction with a large mechanical subcontractor or MEP design consultant, or management experience in a central plant or facility.
• Well versed in building codes and associated standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET Accredited Program).
• FE preferred.
