About the position

The Healthcare Facilities Planner at UNM Health is responsible for managing the planning and administration of hospital construction projects, ensuring organizational efficiency and compliance with policies. This role involves project management for new constructions and remodels, including contract preparation, on-site coordination, and quality control, while not involving direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning and administration of hospital space construction and delivery.
• Provide project management for new construction and remodel requests.
• Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Inspect buildings and office areas for suitability for occupancy.
• Participate in planning and formulating design alternatives and solutions for construction projects.
• Review and interpret proposed designs and architectural drawings.
• Coordinate design review with department managers.
• Ensure project operations comply with design specifications and regulations.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and approve contractor invoices.
• Prepare appropriate signage for remodeled areas.
• Research and prepare various operational reports.
• Serve as a consultant on architectural matters.
• Develop detailed specifications for construction projects.
• Oversee day-to-day management of construction projects.
• Monitor site safety procedures and quality of work.
• Develop and administer the division's annual budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
• 3 years of directly related experience.
• Medium work physical condition, requiring exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
