About the position

The Healthcare Facilities Planner at UNM Hospitals is responsible for managing the planning and administration of hospital construction projects, ensuring organizational efficiency and compliance with policies. This role involves project management for new constructions and remodels, including contract preparation, on-site coordination, and quality control, while also focusing on the effective use of facilities and funds.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning and administration of hospital space construction and delivery.
• Provide project management for new construction and remodel requests.
• Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Inspect buildings and office areas for suitability for occupancy.
• Participate in planning and formulating design alternatives and solutions for construction projects.
• Review and interpret proposed designs and architectural drawings for compliance.
• Coordinate design review with department managers.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and approve contractor invoices.
• Prepare appropriate signage for remodeled areas.
• Research and prepare various reports related to operations and policies.
• Serve as a consultant on architectural matters, including code regulations.
• Develop detailed specifications for construction projects.
• Oversee day-to-day management of construction projects and monitor site safety procedures.
• Develop and administer the division's annual budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
• 3 years of directly related experience.
