About the position

The Healthcare Facilities Project Manager will oversee construction and remodeling projects for state-owned healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with design and maintenance standards. This role involves advising on building systems, investigating deficiencies, and implementing mechanical and architectural projects, particularly in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Advise DHS Engineering and Facility Management staff on construction projects and remodeling of state-owned buildings.
• Investigate building system deficiencies and failures, developing solutions.
• Develop and implement mechanical, civil, plumbing, or architectural remodeling projects with an emphasis on healthcare facilities.
• Prepare materials for review and approval by the State Building Commission.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited college or university.
• Experience managing engineering and construction projects, including developing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Experience troubleshooting building system issues and providing technical assistance to maintenance staff.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the capital budget development process.
• Experience using Computer Aided Design and Drafting Systems (CADD) to generate project drawings.
• Experience in healthcare building or facility design and construction.
