About the position

As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Associate at WTW, you will engage in complex analyses and projects related to the design, financing, and financial analysis of employer health and group benefit programs. This role involves interfacing with vendors and client teams, preparing client deliverables, and ensuring quality standards are met. You will have the opportunity to enhance your health and benefits business acumen, financial, project management, and communication skills by working on innovative projects alongside industry leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to complex analyses and projects involving employer health and group benefit programs.
  • Interface with vendors and client teams to prepare client deliverables.
  • Ensure quality standards are met in client projects.
  • Support benefit plan analysis, design, cost avoidance, risk, and funding strategies.
  • Contribute to vendor financial reviews for clients.
  • Provide quality reviews for technical and consulting accuracy on client projects.
  • Deliver accurate claim reporting and financial modeling to support client decisions.
  • Partner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams for project management.
  • Communicate complex financial/actuarial/analytic results to drive client action.
  • Build strong internal relationships and collaborate on cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2+ years' experience in professional services, preferably in benefit consulting or health underwriting/actuarial functions.
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.
  • Strong analytical, creative, and integrative skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and produce quality deliverables on time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Progress towards completion of health actuarial designation or CEBS designation.
  • Basic knowledge of health and welfare products & services.
  • Ability to learn big data analytic techniques.
  • Knowledge of carrier claim reporting.
