About the position

As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Senior Associate at WTW, you will play a crucial role in the Financial Actuarial & Analytics (FAA) Community of Expertise. This position involves conducting complex analyses and projects related to employer health and group benefit programs, including medical, dental, life, and disability benefits. You will work closely with vendors and client service teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables while leading financial projects for small-to-midsized clients. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and contribute to innovative projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of varying client complexity by working across different client profiles and roles.
  • Lead clients' financial/actuarial engagements for a portfolio of small clients or manage FAA resources for complex client deliverables.
  • Provide financial analyses, outputs, and client deliverables across a region as a key member of employer client teams.
  • Direct benefit plan analysis, design, cost avoidance, risk, and funding strategies.
  • Review technical and consulting accuracy on client projects, including pricing and employee contributions strategies.
  • Communicate complex financial/actuarial/analytic results to drive client action effectively.
  • Partner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams for superior project management.
  • Build strong internal relationships and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in professional services, ideally in benefit consulting/brokerage or health underwriting/actuarial functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of health and welfare products & services.
  • Experience with big data analytic techniques preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of underwriting and funding concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and produce quality deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Desire and ability to expand relationships with clients.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues with limited information and experience.
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical, creative, and integrative skills.
  • Ability to direct the work of junior colleagues and provide feedback.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.
  • Relevant financial experience and/or university degree.
  • Progress towards completion of health actuarial designation or CEBS designation (optional).
