About the position

As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Senior Associate, you will play a crucial role within the Financial Actuarial & Analytics (FAA) Community of Expertise. This position involves conducting complex analyses and projects related to the design, financing, and measurement of various employer health and group benefit programs. You will work closely with vendors and client service teams, ensuring high-quality standards while preparing and communicating detailed analyses to clients. The role offers opportunities to lead financial projects for small-to-midsized clients and engage in innovative projects alongside industry leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to complex analyses and projects involving employer health and group benefit programs.
  • Interface with vendors and client service teams to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Lead financial/actuarial engagements for a portfolio of small clients.
  • Provide direction on benefit plan analysis, design, cost avoidance, risk, and funding strategies.
  • Review technical and consulting accuracy on client projects, including pricing and employee contributions strategies.
  • Communicate complex financial/actuarial results to drive client action effectively.
  • Partner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams for superior project management.
  • Build strong internal relationships and collaborate on cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in professional services, ideally in benefit consulting or health underwriting/actuarial functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of health and welfare products and services.
  • Experience with big data analytic techniques preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of underwriting and funding concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver quality results on time and within budget.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical, creative, and integrative skills.
  • Ability to direct the work of junior colleagues and provide feedback.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.

Nice-to-haves

  • Progress towards completion of health actuarial designation or CEBS designation.
