About the position

The Healthcare Financials Data Analyst will play a crucial role in optimizing revenue cycle processes and improving financial outcomes within the healthcare sector. This position involves collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data, with a strong emphasis on utilizing NextGen practice management software. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in healthcare finance and data analysis to provide insights that drive process improvements and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, interpret, and analyze financial data related to the healthcare revenue cycle, including patient billing, collections, claims processing, and accounts receivable.
  • Create and maintain detailed reports that provide insight into revenue cycle performance, developing dashboards, visualizations, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Apply a deep understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle to identify key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement, using data insights to optimize processes and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Utilize NextGen practice management software to extract, organize, and analyze data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Identify areas within the revenue cycle that could benefit from process improvements and collaborate with relevant teams to implement data-driven changes.
  • Ensure that all reporting and analytics adhere to relevant compliance standards, including HIPAA and other healthcare regulations, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of financial data.
  • Work closely with revenue cycle, billing, and finance teams to align reporting practices with organizational goals and provide recommendations based on analytical findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare finance or data analysis, with a focus on revenue cycle processes.
  • Strong proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with NextGen practice management software is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, including billing, coding, collections, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards, including HIPAA.
