About the position

The Healthcare HR Director (People Operations) at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing HR functions for over 350 employees. This position involves providing guidance on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance with HR policies. The director will also develop workforce strategies and enhance employee engagement initiatives, contributing to the organization's mission of making a positive impact in behavioral healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage People Operations activities for 350+ employees.
• Oversee comprehensive HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and benefits administration.
• Ensure compliance with Devereux's policies and procedures related to People Operations.
• Serve as a key senior leader, consulting with senior members of the center.
• Develop workforce strategies aligned with the center's future needs.
• Foster partnerships with educational and community organizations to enhance Devereux's reputation as an employer of choice.
• Create and implement targeted recruiting and development plans to bridge workforce gaps.
• Enhance retention and engagement through staff engagement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master's degree and HR certification (SHRM/HRCI preferred).
• Minimum of 6 years of HR management experience, ideally in behavioral healthcare or non-profit settings.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of Federal and state employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA).
• Proficiency in HR/Payroll Information Systems (e.g., Oracle) preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to relate to diverse backgrounds and demonstrate sound judgment.
• Strong conflict resolution skills.
