About the position

The Healthcare IT Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of the interoperability final rule project, ensuring effective management and implementation. This hybrid role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, effective communication with stakeholders, and adherence to healthcare regulations. The position involves developing project plans, monitoring risks, and maintaining project documentation to ensure timely delivery and compliance with federal funding requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall success of the interoperability final rule project as the primary point of accountability.
  • Oversee planning and implementation activities of project management vendors to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project execution and compliance with federal rules.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and related activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Facilitate project team meetings to communicate project status and coordinate team activities.
  • Create presentations, project reports, and other materials to communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Monitor risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and track action items.
  • Coordinate with project teams and vendors for review and validation of project deliverables.
  • Support compliance with federal funding requirements, including invoice management and HR reporting.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with project team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management within the healthcare industry.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management, vendors, and project team members.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical personnel and translate technical concepts for business staff.
  • Ability to document and convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Ability to assess priorities and flexibly meet dynamic team needs.
  • Independent work capability with quick processing and prioritization of activities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, such as HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Experience in preparing project documentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.

  • Experience with healthcare information technology projects.
