About the position

Armstrong Teasdale is seeking a Healthcare Litigation Paralegal to join its St. Louis office. The Healthcare Litigation Paralegal supports attorneys throughout all legal processes including written discovery, collection of relevant documents, research, depositions, trial preparation, and trial execution. This position is expected to meet or exceed a billable hour model and must encompass strong organization skills with an eye for detail. Essential Functions include assisting attorneys in drafting and revising discovery and motions, preparing records and exhibits for production, tracking documents produced, and following up to ensure all records and documents are collected, analyzed, and summarized for clients. The paralegal will also assist with trial preparation, including being responsible for the compilation and identification of trial exhibits, attending trials, and actively assisting with technology, witnesses, and exhibits in the courtroom. Additionally, the role involves preparing, downloading, and tracking court filings, maintaining compliance deadlines through docketing administration, drafting client correspondence for attorneys, conducting research, compiling and organizing materials to prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials, and obtaining and analyzing records and documents. The paralegal will work with experts in all areas of litigation, prepare materials for experts, and conduct research regarding experts and prior testimony, serving as a point of contact for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in drafting and revising discovery and motions.
  • Prepare records and exhibits for production.
  • Track documents produced and outstanding records requests.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including compilation of trial exhibits.
  • Attend trials and assist with technology, witnesses, and exhibits in the courtroom.
  • Prepare, download, and track court filings including electronic filings.
  • Maintain compliance deadlines through docketing administration.
  • Draft client correspondence for attorneys.
  • Conduct research and organize materials for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Prepare discovery production materials.
  • Obtain and analyze records and documents.
  • Work with experts in litigation, preparing materials and conducting research.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Paralegal certificate or degree required.
  • 2 years of experience in the legal industry or equivalent transferable skills from other industries.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in paralegal studies preferred.
  • 3-5 years as a Litigation Paralegal preferred.
