About the position

As a Clinical Manager at Fresenius Medical Care, you will oversee the delivery of quality patient care while managing clinical operations. This role involves leading a collaborative team to provide tailored care plans and dialysis treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease. You will also participate in a Clinical Leadership Program designed to foster continuous learning and career advancement opportunities within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the clinic, including costs, processes, staffing, and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Human Resources, Quality, and Technical Services.
  • Oversee the facility's Home Therapies Program as needed.
  • Maintain integrity of medical and operations records and comply with data collections and auditing activities.
  • Accountable for completion of the Annual Standing Order Review and Internal Classification of Disease (ICD) coding.
  • Manage clinic financials, including efficient utilization of supplies and regular profit and loss reviews.
  • Responsible for all required network reporting and on-site state or federal surveys.
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Educate patients regarding quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, and access care.
  • Act as a resource for patients and families to address concerns and questions.
  • Ensure timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules to ensure facility efficiency and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Plan, coordinate, and validate patient eligibility for treatment.
  • Report changes in patient status regarding clinical, insurance, or travel issues.
  • Participate in the selection and hiring of new team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory trainings.
  • Ensure all patient care employees complete appropriate training courses and maintain current licensures/certifications.
  • Support clinical staff members and encourage professional growth.
  • Complete employee evaluations and establish annual goals.
  • Document disciplinary actions and confer with the clinic Director of Operations and Human Resources when needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate the application process for physician privileges and compliance with medical staff by-laws.
  • Maintain strong physician relationships and ensure effective communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
  • Current appropriate state licensure.
  • 6+ years business operations experience in a healthcare facility.
  • 12 months experience in clinical nursing.
  • 6 months chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years supervisory or project/program management experience.
  • Med/surg or ICU/CCU experience.
