About the position

The Healthcare Organization Operations Administrator will support the Bureau of Medical Review in managing day-to-day operations for the Center of Operational Excellence. This role involves reviewing medical claims, handling inquiries, and contributing to process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing costs within the New York State Medicaid system.

Responsibilities

  • Review medical claims according to written procedures
  • Answer routine phone calls about claims review activities
  • Escalate issues and complex claims
  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times
  • Perform all other activities as may be deemed necessary

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 3 years of administrative assistance experience
  • Proficient in the use of standard office technology
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Ability to be flexible, innovative, and work independently
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous customer service experience
