About the position

The Scheduling-Payroll Manager at Genesis HealthCare plays a crucial role in managing the nursing center's labor spend and processing payroll in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position serves as the primary contact for all employees regarding scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll, balancing staffing needs with financial performance. The manager will utilize software to minimize overtime and agency spending while ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and maintaining appropriate nursing staff coverage at all times.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control the nursing center's labor spend and process payroll according to established policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary contact for all employees' scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll needs.
• Balance nursing center staffing needs with employee schedule preferences and financial performance.
• Utilize software to minimize overtime and nursing agency spending while ensuring nursing hours per patient day (HPPD) and salary expenses are within budget.
• Lead the nursing center's Labor Management Team to manage labor performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain nursing center nursing staff coverage at all times.

Requirements

• Five plus years of previous work experience in healthcare or long-term care with a proven track record in scheduling, timekeeping, or payroll.
• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
