About the position

This position is responsible for planning, programming, and developing healthcare departments within large, complex medical facilities. The role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver specific project components on schedule and within budget, while managing client expectations and articulating their vision through project work plans.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, program, and develop healthcare departments within large medical facilities.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver project components on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate and run user meetings for needs assessment to prepare functional and space programs.
  • Articulate and communicate the client's vision, goals, and objectives during the planning phase.
  • Participate in client presentations and project meetings, providing direction for team members and consultants.
  • Assist the production team in producing documents that reflect the owner's goals and project intent.
  • Be available to the CA team to answer clinically significant questions and provide solutions.
  • Oversee the shop drawing review process to ensure design intent is met.
  • Mentor less experienced planning team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of recent experience in planning, programming, and developing healthcare departments within large medical facilities.
  • Broad base of experience with inpatient, ambulatory, diagnostic, and academic medical facilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to healthcare facilities, including IBC, ADA, ANSI, NFPA, and FGI Guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required; AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Associates degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or related field is required; architectural degree is preferred.
