About the position

The Healthcare Privacy Analyst role is focused on ensuring compliance with federal and state privacy regulations within the healthcare sector. The analyst will support the Privacy Office by coordinating various responsibilities, managing reports, and assisting with policy updates. This position requires a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and the ability to handle sensitive information while working collaboratively with senior staff and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate various responsibilities within the Privacy Office to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Support senior level Privacy Office workers regarding policies, procedures, and process flows.
  • Coordinate, validate, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual reports regarding core Privacy Office functions.
  • Update Privacy Office policies and procedures, ensuring training information is accurate.
  • Facilitate changes in departmental policies/procedures due to internal audit/compliance activities.
  • Track and triage all complaints received, notifying senior staff of response deadlines.
  • Monitor disclosures and analyze low to moderate risk practices for solutions.
  • Facilitate and coordinate Privacy Risk Assessment completion and analyze risk based on HIPAA criteria.
  • Review Privacy related contracts and support contract redlining.
  • Analyze and categorize Privacy risks to determine corrective actions.
  • Produce regular reports for senior staff regarding incident types and volumes.
  • Gather privacy case, incident, contract, and compliance data from multiple sources and prepare reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 4 years of work experience.
  • Experience with HIPAA, policy, reporting, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry.
  • Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work with peers to resolve issues.
  • Problem resolution skills and ability to handle sensitive information.
  • PC proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of corporate privacy policies and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HEDIS (1 year preferred).
  • Epic Certification (preferred).
