About the position

The Healthcare Revenue Cycle Manager (RCM) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all functions of the revenue cycle process within a healthcare setting. This role requires expertise in the NextGen platform and involves ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while maximizing revenue. The RCM Manager will lead a team, analyze processes, and develop strategies to improve cash flow and efficiency in billing and collections.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the entire revenue cycle, including patient registration, billing, claims processing, collections, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers.
  • Analyze and improve revenue cycle processes to reduce denials and enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing, collections, denial rates, and AR days.
  • Develop strategies to improve cash flow and streamline billing processes.
  • Lead and train the RCM team, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing issues and maintain accurate patient information.
  • Stay current with healthcare regulations and payer requirements.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance in revenue cycle processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships for RCM-related services and tools, including NextGen software.
  • Act as a NextGen subject matter expert, providing guidance to staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of healthcare revenue cycle management experience, with 2+ years using NextGen.
  • Proven ability to manage an RCM team in a multi-specialty medical group or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and collections processes.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Fort Worth, Texas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (CMRS, CPC, or equivalent).
  • Experience managing RCM for multiple specialties.
  • Familiarity with healthcare AI tools and automation in revenue cycle processes.
