About the position

The Hearing Care Coordinator (HCC) at Hearing Health Connection plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive quality care and service. This part-time position involves collaborating with clinical staff, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and providing support to both patients and referring physicians. The HCC is responsible for various administrative tasks, patient interactions, and maintaining a positive clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude
• Place outbound calls to current and former patients for scheduling follow-up hearing tests and consultations
• Collect patient intake forms and maintain patient files/notes
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments
• Complete benefit checks and authorization for each patient's insurance
• Provide first level support to patients, answer questions, check patients in/out, and collect and process payments
• Process repairs under the direct supervision of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
• Prepare bank deposits and submit daily reports to finance
• Manage inventory, order/monitor stock, and submit supply orders as needed
• Assist with event planning and logistics for at least 1 community outreach event per month

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years in a health care environment is preferred
• Previous customer service experience is required
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong relationship building skills with patients, physicians, and clinical staff
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• EMR/EHR experience is a plus

Nice-to-haves

• Associates degree, preferred
• Prior experience/knowledge with hearing aids is a plus
• General sales knowledge for accessories and any patient support
