About the position

The Hearing Care Coordinator (HCC) at Sonova plays a crucial role in ensuring quality care and service for patients in the hearing health sector. This part-time position involves working closely with clinical staff and Hearing Care Professionals to support patients and referring physicians, manage appointments, and assist with various administrative tasks within the clinic. The HCC is essential in creating a positive patient experience and maintaining efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude
  • Place outbound calls to current and former patients for scheduling follow-up hearing tests and consultations
  • Collect patient intake forms and maintain patient files/notes
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments
  • Complete benefit checks and authorization for each patient's insurance
  • Provide first level support to patients, answer questions, check patients in/out, and collect and process payments
  • Process repairs under the direct supervision of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
  • Prepare bank deposits and submit daily reports to finance
  • Manage general sales knowledge for accessories and patient support
  • Process patient orders, receive all orders and verify pick up, input information into the system
  • Clean and maintain equipment and instruments
  • Submit equipment and facility requests
  • Perform general office duties, including cleaning
  • Manage inventory, order/monitor stock, and submit supply orders as needed
  • Assist with event planning and logistics for at least 1 community outreach event per month

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree preferred
  • 2+ years in a health care environment preferred
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Prior experience/knowledge with hearing aids is a plus
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills with patients, physicians, and clinical staff
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • EMR/EHR experience a plus
