About the position

Cochlear is seeking a Territory Sales Manager based in Detroit, MI, to help grow and service our customers in the Hearing Healthcare industry. This role is pivotal in expanding our Acoustics product portfolio, which aims to benefit individuals with hearing loss. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical device sales, particularly within the Operating Room (OR) environment, and will be responsible for supporting surgical and clinical cases while demonstrating business sales and training acumen. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with professional providers, including surgeons, audiologists, hospitals, and clinics, which is critical for the success of this role. In this position, you will leverage your experience to create, manage, and maintain relationships with key accounts, ensuring that Cochlear's products are effectively positioned and sold. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in your market and cross-functionally with other corporate teams to develop business plans aimed at growing both new and existing accounts. Your strong learning agility will enable you to develop knowledge across Cochlear's product portfolio, allowing you to provide clinical expertise to professional customers. The role requires a commitment to travel, with expectations of up to 60% travel time to support training and territory needs. Responsibilities

  • Prospecting for opportunities with new and existing customers focusing on the Acoustics product portfolio.
  • Building successful relationships with surgical partners and demonstrating credibility with key accounts.
  • Utilizing business acumen tools such as Miller Heiman and Salesforce for planning and reporting purposes.
  • Providing clinical expertise to Cochlear professional customers through knowledge gained from clinical and product training.
  • Maintaining in-depth product knowledge of both CI and Baha internal product offerings to effectively sell and position Cochlear products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Hearing Healthcare industry or a Certificate of Clinical Competency.
  • Demonstrated prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly effective presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in medical device sales, particularly in the OR environment.
  • Knowledge of OR protocols and etiquette.
