About the position

The Heavy Civil CAD Modeler - Survey/Layout position at Sundt Construction involves technical responsibilities related to surveying and modeling for heavy civil projects. The role requires a thorough understanding of standard survey practices, laser scanning, and Civil 3D software, contributing to the creation of 3D models and maintaining survey equipment. Responsibilities

• Understand and read construction plans (blueprint reading).
• Operate all survey equipment including GPS, total station, and level.
• Perform basic survey calculations to assist the Party Chief.
• Keep construction documents up to date.
• Maintain survey equipment in proper working order.
• Ensure the truck is fully stocked with necessary materials.
• Perform construction stakeout and store stakeout data accurately.
• Utilize Civil 3D software and Trimble Software effectively.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate and interface effectively with others.
• Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
• Working towards NICET certification and possess 2 years of survey and/or layout experience.
