About the position

The Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic at Stampede Ventures Inc, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is responsible for overseeing and performing repairs on heavy-duty equipment in Nome, Alaska. This role requires extensive mechanical experience and knowledge of various equipment operating systems, ensuring all machinery is maintained in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Shop Foreman and Managers to maintain all Heavy-Duty Equipment and keep it in safe, working order.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records of all work done to equipment.
• Perform repairs on equipment as needed.
• Order necessary parts to complete maintenance and repairs.
• Work independently without supervision.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License.
• 10+ years of Mechanical experience in Heavy Equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, drills, and articulating haul trucks.
• Knowledge of Cat Operating systems, ability to troubleshoot and repair as necessary.
• Knowledge of Atlas Copco and Furukawa Drill operating systems, ability to troubleshoot and repair as necessary.
• Ability to work with computers to troubleshoot various systems on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles.

• Cat Certified Mechanic
