About the position

This position is responsible for the mechanical maintenance and preventative maintenance on all assigned facility equipment, including compressors, turbines, pumps, and various support equipment. The role is crucial in driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, contributing to the strategic plan for success. Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment.
  • Repair and maintain heavy duty construction equipment, including loaders, graders, backhoes, hydraulic and mechanical cranes, and generators.
  • Read job orders and inspect equipment in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
  • Overhaul and maintain various makes of heavy equipment, including CAT, Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Volvo.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment using hoists, hand tools, and pneumatic and electric tools.
  • Complete minor and major repairs on vehicles as necessary.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Complete suspension and brake work, install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment, making adjustments as needed.
  • Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools as necessary to make and repair parts.
  • Inform supervisor of any incidents involving injury, spills, equipment malfunction, and/or damage.
  • Perform clerical duties as required.
  • Supervise 1 to 2 shop laborers or mechanic helpers, including training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • One (1) year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Nice-to-haves

  • Oilfield Rig mechanic experience preferred.
