About the position
The Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Service Technician role at Snider Fleet Solutions involves repairing and maintaining diesel and gasoline-powered heavy trucks and various types of trailers. Technicians will work under supervision, performing diagnostics, repairs, and inspections while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain diesel and gasoline-powered class 5 through 8 heavy trucks.
- Diagnose heavy-duty truck system components under supervision, including electrical and emissions-related issues.
- Perform basic repairs on components such as brake jobs and wheel seal replacements under supervision.
- Conduct PM inspections and accurately complete DOT forms and work order documentation.
- Install new parts such as cross members, panels, and brakes under supervision.
- Lubricate moving parts and ensure safety protocols are followed in the workplace.
- Assist with shop workflow and demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in the industry or a related management position.
- Valid Class C Driver's License or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
- Federal Annual and Brake Inspector certification.
- Commercial TIA certification required after six months of employment.
- DOT Medical Certification.
- Medium/Heavy Truck ASE certifications preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic understanding of VMRS codes and TMC recommended practices.
- Knowledge of maintenance-related software and order processing systems.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and safety rules.
