About the position

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Jackman Equipment Company is responsible for performing service and repairs on engines, hydraulics, and mechanical components of heavy and industrial equipment. This role requires troubleshooting skills, maintaining a safe work environment, and proper documentation of repairs. The position offers opportunities for growth and requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service and repair to engines, hydraulics, and mechanical components of heavy/industrial equipment.
  • Utilize available resources to troubleshoot and identify parts needed for repair.
  • Maintain work area in a safe, clean, orderly manner and perform miscellaneous duties associated with the job.
  • Reduce waste by reusing and recycling shop materials.
  • Maintain proper documentation on work orders for new and on-going repairs.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
  • Experience writing work orders on new and on-going repairs.
  • Ability to commute to Farmington location for scheduled shifts: Monday through Friday 7am-5pm.
  • Time-management skills to handle repairs/maintenance efficiently and stay on schedule.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. and stand/walk during entire work shift.
  • Ability to bring and use own tools.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
