About the position

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Univar Solutions, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the transportation fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe and legal for use. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs on a fleet of approximately 97 vehicles, while also managing official vehicle records and handling transportation-related agency inspections.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain the transportation fleet.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles every 90 days.
• Conduct inspections on vehicles every 90 days.
• Repair vehicles as necessary to ensure safety and legality.
• Maintain registration for all vehicles.
• Perform emergency on-road vehicle breakdown repairs as necessary.
• Maintain official vehicle records.
• Handle all transportation-related agency inspections.
• Purchase all parts and supplies as needed.
• Ensure VIK and VRS inspections are performed annually on tanker equipment.
• Install PTOs, pumps, and new equipment for bulk deliveries.
• Assist tank farm personnel with pump failures as needed.
• Maintain waste oil generation and disposal records.

Requirements

• Specialized training preferred in Cummins diesel engines.
• Specialized training preferred in Eaton transmissions and differentials.
• Specialized training preferred in Rockwell differentials.
• Specialized training preferred in heavy-duty truck suspensions.
• Specialized training preferred in heavy-duty brake systems.
