In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment. You will adhere to company safety policies and procedures, learn drill patterns and terminology, and execute drill patterns as established by the Blaster Foreman. Communication is key, as you will need to report problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman and coordinate supplies effectively. Additionally, you will be required to understand the Field Accounting system and complete necessary paperwork accurately and on time. The position requires physical agility and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. You will also participate in various meetings, including Foreman's, Safety, Job Specific, and Daily Heads-Up meetings. Completing Driller I training within a designated period is essential, and you should be able to work unsupervised while maintaining a sense of urgency. Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment
  • Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Learn drill patterns and terminology, then execute drill pattern and layout as established by the Blaster Foreman
  • Inventory accessories and understand cost of accessories and maintenance drill accessories
  • Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman
  • Understand the Field Accounting system and accurately complete and submit timely paperwork: drill reports, hole sheets, and a signed timecard
  • Coordinate supplies with Blaster
  • Carry all tools and supplies
  • Participate in meetings as needed: Foreman's, Safety, Job Specific, and Daily Heads-Up
  • Complete Driller I training within designated period
  • Work unsupervised while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Equipment operating experience is helpful (earth moving construction equipment, farm equipment, timber harvesting equipment, etc.)
  • Valid Driver's License with own transportation
  • Experience as construction laborer
  • High level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
  • Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Successful completion of a background screening for ATF

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with drilling and blasting operations
