About the position
The Heavy Equipment Operator III is responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment to complete construction projects. This role may also involve performing laborer duties as needed, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate heavy equipment such as compactors, water trucks, articulated end dumps, tractors and pans, dozers, motor graders, and excavators.
- Operate small equipment or hand tools.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip equipment inspections and report any needed repairs.
- Submit a daily task and time report.
- Perform laborer duties as needed.
- Comply with the company's safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memorandums in English.
- Ability to read and understand stakes.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with attention to detail.
- Leadership skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Available to work weekend or holiday shifts as scheduled.
Nice-to-haves
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- First Aid or CPR training.
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
