About the position
The position involves operating equipment to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth, and width while adhering to the company's high moral standards and commitment to safety. The role requires working efficiently under supervision and understanding shoring, soil classes, and dewatering. The employee will be responsible for identifying safety hazards and taking corrective actions to minimize risks. Additional job-related duties may be assigned by supervision as needed.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's 'Code of Business Conduct and Ethics'.
- Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its 'Core Values.'
- Work efficiently with supervision.
- Operate equipment to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth, and width and grade.
- Work around existing underground utilities and tight areas.
- Understand shoring, soil classes, and dewatering.
- Use equipment to remove loosened material and put in piles or transport trucks.
- Identify safety hazards and take necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical, industrial or refinery maintenance experience.
- General knowledge of basic hand tools.
- CDL Preferred.
- Must be able to pass equipment test and visual observation of operating equipment.
- Complete the Company's Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client/Site specific training.
- Must obtain and maintain an active status within the appropriate drug testing program.
- MUST have TWIC card.
- MUST have a 20-hour high hazard facility training card.
- MUST have Verification of 6,000 craft related hours OR Graduated journeyperson status preferred.
