About the position
The Heavy Equipment Operator - Landfill position at North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) involves operating various heavy construction equipment within landfill operations. The role is crucial for maintaining landfill processes and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The operator will work under general supervision and is expected to perform routine maintenance on equipment, monitor operations, and uphold safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operates and monitors performance of heavy construction equipment such as landfill compactors, bulldozers, loaders, scrapers, off-road articulated dump trucks, and motor graders within the landfill.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on operated equipment with minimal supervision.
- Monitors certain process operations as directed by the supervisor.
- Responsible for housekeeping in assigned units.
- Observes safe work practices.
- Verifies that delivered waste complies with applicable rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in operation of heavy construction type equipment.
- Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
- Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
